The Undergraduate Program of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro, has once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment through the success of its student team in securing funding for the 2026 Student Creativity Program (PKM) organized by Belmawa-Kemdiktisaintek in the PKM-K (Entrepreneurship) category.
The team consists of Yahya Puji Lestari (Accounting 2025), Zahra Najla Rania (Library and Information Science 2025), Artika Zakiyah Darajat (Library and Information Science 2025), Irene Bertina Siadaru (Chemical Engineering 2024), and Fara Putri Luphida (Library and Information Science 2025). Guided by Yanuar Yoga P., S.Hum., M.Hum., the team proposed a project entitled “KIREI: Eco-Friendly Japanese Tissue Innovation Based on Water Hyacinth and Banana Midribs through Biopulp Technology for Physical Document Conservation.”
KIREI was developed as a sustainable solution in the field of physical document conservation by utilizing natural materials such as water hyacinth and banana midribs processed through biopulp technology. The innovation not only focuses on preserving physical documents but also promotes waste reduction and the use of environmentally friendly resources.
This achievement reflects the team’s strong interdisciplinary collaboration and commitment to creating innovations that contribute positively to society and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the accomplishment is expected to inspire other students to continue developing creative ideas, participating in academic competitions, and contributing to impactful innovations.
