Undip Library and Information Science Students Win Gold Medal and Diamond Award at the International 2I2C 2026 Event in Malaysia

Semarang, Indonesia – Two undergraduate students from the Library and Information Science Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, have achieved remarkable success on the international stage. Fadhil Khoiri and Chayyara Nadhifa Putri S., both members of the Class of 2024, were awarded the Gold Medal and the prestigious Diamond Award at the 2nd International Informatics Creativity Competition (2I2C) 2026.

The international competition was organized by the Faculty of Information Science, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Kedah, Malaysia, in collaboration with the Penang Public Library Corporation (Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Pulau Pinang/PPAPP). The event was held on 6 July 2026 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC), Malaysia, bringing together participants from various educational institutions and countries.

The award-winning innovation, entitled “PUSAKO: A Digital Cultural Heritage Library Ecosystem for Cultural Preservation and Immersive Learning,” presents a digital library ecosystem designed to preserve cultural heritage while enhancing immersive learning experiences through the integration of digital technologies. The project demonstrates how library and information science can contribute to safeguarding cultural heritage and promoting innovative approaches to education in the digital era.

Winning both the Gold Medal and the highest distinction, the Diamond Award, reflects the students’ creativity, innovation, and academic excellence in addressing contemporary challenges through information and digital technologies. Their achievement also highlights the commitment of the Library and Information Science Study Program at Diponegoro University to fostering innovation, research, and international competitiveness among its students.

This accomplishment is expected to inspire the entire academic community of Diponegoro University to continue pursuing excellence, developing innovative solutions, and representing the university proudly on the global stage.
