FIB UNDIP AND BLORA REGENCY ARCHIVES AND LIBRARY SERVICE COORDINATE COLLABORATION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF HOLISTIC READING

BLORA, September 3, 2026 – Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) has officially initiated a strategic collaboration with the Archives and Library Service (Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan/DKP) of Blora Regency under the Business and Industrial Cooperation (DUDI) scheme. The initial step of this collaboration was marked by a coordination meeting led by Yuli Rohmiyati, S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D., held on Wednesday, September 3, 2026, at the DKP Blora Regency Office.

The meeting focused on the design of an innovative program entitled “Initiating Bibliotherapy Services Using the Holistic Reading Method in Libraries to Support the SDGs and Mental Health.” The program serves as a concrete response to the growing importance of promoting mental health in the community while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to good health and well-being and quality education.

The Universitas Diponegoro team received a warm welcome from the leadership and functional staff of the Blora Regency Archives and Library Service, including Titik Umiyati, S.Pd., M.Si., Secretary of the Service; Teguh Catur Mukhiwidodo, S.Kep., from the General Affairs and Personnel Subdivision of the Secretariat of the Archives and Library Service; Agnes Saraswati Devi, S.Psi., First Expert Human Resources Analyst for State Civil Apparatus; librarian Aktif Amalia, A.Ma.Pust.; and Jumiati, S.E., M.M., Policy Technical Reviewer.

The coordination meeting resulted in several important agreements concerning the implementation of the main program, which is scheduled to take place over two days, September 16–17, 2026. The program will involve the active participation of librarians from across Blora Regency, as well as librarians from elementary schools (SD) and junior high schools (SMP) in the Blora area.

In addition to providing training and capacity-building sessions on the Holistic Reading method for librarians, the collaboration will also feature a hands-on experimental session. The experiment will involve junior high school students in Blora to explore the effectiveness of bibliotherapy as a self-help approach. Through this method, libraries are expected to serve not only as places for reading but also to transform into healing spaces that support the mental well-being of younger generations.

The DUDI collaboration between Universitas Diponegoro and the Blora Regency Archives and Library Service is expected to serve as a sustainable pilot project, fostering a more inclusive, adaptive, and impactful library ecosystem that contributes meaningfully to the psychological well-being of the people of Blora.
